My name is Ian Sanderson and I come from a small mining town in South Yorkshire, I am quite an ambitious individual who always thought that they did not belong to their hometown as there were no opportunities there at all, and something inside had always driven me to move around the Country to better myself, and as a Father, it was my responsibility to provide a safe and secure future for my family, now as a Christian I believe that this drive was fuelled by God so that he could make the most of my skills and attributes On a more up to date note, about two years ago, I was experiencing an empty feeling, as though there was a void in my life, and there was something missing, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was, one night whilst I laid in bed, I stretched out my arms and started to talk to Jesus, asking him to come into my life, I did this for several days but nothing instantly happened. Over the following months I found that everything that I turned my hand to, or new objectives that I pursued in my life just fell into place, plus I felt so productive and happy, an happiness that I had never experienced before. At the beginning of last year I enrolled on the Start Course, and this gave me an opportunity to ask any questions about faith and religion that I was unsure of, plus it gave me the opportunity to pray and meet likeminded people. After the Start Course I enrolled on the Alpha Course as my quest to learn more about the Christian faith was now my main priority in life, this was an absolutely fantastic course, a totally brilliant experience! My faith is now stronger than ever, and my relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit is now something that I couldn’t imagine life without!! So all I can say to anyone is find a quiet place, open up your life and pray to Jesus - you will never be the same person again. |
